Delivering and improving the service - Key points
- Ensure that there is a clear structure in place across the
organisation (or the relevant service areas) for assessing
and managing the performance of the service.
- Assess the viability of your joint project arrangements in
terms of the key leaders and personnel. Specifically, what
would be the impact of the departure of a key person? If
this happens, how can any negative consequences be
minimised or guarded against through forward planning?
- Ensure that there is a contingency plan in place to
accommodate changes in resources and/or funding available
over the lifetime of the project.
- Monitor and evaluate feedback from staff and service
users as the changes to the service come on-stream. Is
there a robust evaluation process in place? Are the expected
benefits being delivered - for employees and for the users?
- Run pilots of new ways of working and working
arrangements. Jointly evaluate the results using feedback
from staff, managers and service users.
- Ensure that successes are celebrated and publicised.
